Senior Fullstack Engineer (Systems & AI)
Some problems are messy, large-scale, and very real, and buzzwords alone won’t solve them (even if we use a few at the bottom of this ad). That’s why we build real systems, and why we care about how AI can be applied in ways that actually hold up when things get complicated.
At Playground Dev, AI isn’t a side project or a pitch deck. It’s already part of how we:
map massive systems and architectures
perform technical due diligence for large clients
analyze and structure huge volumes of documentation
build automated agent flows that turn weeks of work into hours
This isn't a research role. And it’s not a prompt-engineering playground. It’s a fullstack role with backend gravity, where AI is becoming a natural part of the toolbox.
What you'll do
You’ll work as a consultant at Playground Dev, working closely with clients to design, build, and scale software that actually makes a difference. Together with our sharp and low-ego engineering team, you’ll help modernize systems and explore how AI can be applied for real, backed by strong backend and fullstack engineering.
The role spans hands-on development and technical direction, with work ranging from deep engineering to turning complex, unclear problem spaces into clear, working solutions. We're also building the next generation of AI-enabled services, tools, and automated agents for real-world use cases.
We move fast, stay humble, and share what we learn, with each other and with our clients.
Who are you?
You’re comfortable as a fullstack or backend developer, and you’ve reached a level where you understand technical trade-offs, can reason about large systems and architectures, and remain steady when things get complex. You also enjoy the consultant role, stepping into new domains, quickly understanding unfamiliar contexts, and turning someone else’s problem space into something you can own and improve.
You would likely describe yourself as:
AI-curious (or AI-capable): You’re either already working with AI in practice, or actively want to.
Comfortable taking responsibility: You’re used to stepping into demanding projects, sometimes leading, sometimes contributing, but always focused on moving the work forward.
Technically solid: You have the experience and technical maturity to make sound decisions and stand behind them.
More or less language-agnostic: You might work in Java, Node.js / TypeScript, or something similar, but you care more about solving the problem than defending a stack.
As a human being, we expect you to be humble, endlessly curious about technology, and driven, while still understanding that it’s okay to ask for help. In short: friendly, curious, and playful.
Buzzword bingo: Java, .NET, Node.js, TypeScript, React, NestJS, Python, AWS, Azure, LangChain, PostgreSQL, Docker, Strands Agents
Language requirement
Fluency in Swedish is a very-nice-to-have and English is a must. Why? Because most of our collaborations and client projects are conducted in Swedish
